The vision behind Jep’s Place – an off-grid retreat where simplicity, nature, and connection are at the heart of everything.
They say Jep once lived in the city. Surrounded by noise, speed, and lights that kept the night away.
He had a job, friends, plans — everything that was supposed to matter.
But deep inside, he felt: this isn’t it.
He longed for silence.
For earth under his feet, for the sound of fire, for water that flows freely.
So he left — travelling further north, until he found this place, where the forests still speak and the air is clear.
He built his home with his own hands, learned to listen to the rhythm of the seasons and discovered what truly matters in life:
a roof over your head, warmth from the fire, food you grow or gather and people to share it with.
The rest is secondary.
That simple, natural way of living became the foundation of Jep’s Place — an off-grid retreat location in the heart of northern Sweden, where silence, simplicity and connection guide the days.
Here, we live in harmony with nature.
Heating comes from wood, electricity is limited,
and most of our food comes from our own garden, our chickens or the surrounding forest.
We make our own herbal teas, soaps and natural care products.
Everything here breathes simplicity, awareness and respect for the earth.
For those who come here — whether for a retreat or simply to be —
something begins to shift.
Living close to nature, slowing down, feeling the rhythm of the land —
it opens space for real transformation.
Retreat leaders find that Jep’s Place naturally supports their work.
We take care of the practical things — the food, the firewood, the rhythm of the days — so you can focus fully on guiding your group.
The nature does the rest.
Because that’s what Jep taught us:
you don’t have to push for change; it happens naturally,
when you become still, listen, and remember who you are.
